Application Instructions

Admission Requirements

Candidates for admission are expected to present strong high school programs of study consisting of 18 or more academic courses taken over the four-year period as well as submit an SAT or ACT test score.

For US Citizens/Residents, we recommend your secondary school program consist of the following minimum preparation for each subject area:

English Four years with extensive work in reading and writing
Mathematics Three years (students entering scientific fields should have four years including advanced algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus)
Foreign Language At least two years, preferably three of a classical or modern language
Science At least three years of a laboratory science (biology, chemistry, or physics); students entering scientific fields should have at least four years
Social Studies At least three years with an emphasis on history

If you are looking to transfer, an international applicant or a home schooled student, your requirements are different.

Because we take a holistic approach when evaluating applications, we do not identify minimum SAT/ACT scores. The middle 50% of the freshmen enrolling in the fall of 2008 scored between 1880 and 2140 on the SAT and between 28 and 32 on the ACT. Sixty percent of the students were ranked in the top decile of their graduating high school class.
