Boasting one of the oldest and most storied athletic programs in the Southeast and one of the most comprehensive collegiate club sports programs in the country, athletics is an integral part of life at Tulane – whether you are playing or cheering.
Known as the Green Wave, Tulane's varsity teams play at the highest level (Division I-A) of the NCAA. We’ve got a nationally-ranked men’s baseball team, a women’s basketball team with a long history of racking up wins, and more. Since Katrina, Green Wave athletes have been competing in eight sports:
| Football Baseball Men's Basketball Women's Basketball |
Volleyball Women's Indoor Track Women's Outdoor Track Women's Cross-country |
We are scheduled to return the program to the 16-sport total that Tulane carried before Hurricane Katrina by the 2010-11 academic year.
Tulane has a very active intramural sports scene, with over 75% of students taking part. Who wouldn’t want to gather a bunch of guys from their floor and play flag football on Smart Turf, the same surface that the pros play on?
The number of club sports at Tulane is astounding, from Lacrosse and Cricket to Capoeira Angola and Sailing there’s something for everyone:
