Originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, I moved to New Orleans in 2009 after graduating from college. A little intimidated by the size of the city (Vicksburg has fewer than 25,000 residents), I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after my first shrimp poboy and a stroll through the beautiful Garden District, I was in love! Now, other than my accent, I feel like a true local. The Crescent City is so welcoming, and there is always something to do. I love exploring all of the outdoor adventures in Southeast Louisiana, shopping on Magazine Street, restaurant-hopping through the city, and getting involved with the endless volunteer opportunities that NOLA has to offer. The diversity in New Orleans and at Tulane has been an amazing learning experience for me! Feel free to contact me with any questions about Tulane or the great city of New Orleans.
