For Parents
| A Note from President Cowen | Parent Q & A |
If you're the parent of a prospective or accepted Tulane student, you've come to the right place. Everything you'll need–from campus safety information to an overview of the orientation process–is within reach. We hope you take some time to look through the whole Admission site, as many of your questions should be answered throughout. We’ve also created a special Parents FAQ page to answer questions we hear a lot from parents. Scott Cowen, our President and father of four, has a special message for you as well. After spending some time with us here, we think you'll find what others have found: the more you learn about Tulane, the more you'll want your son or daughter to learn here.

Advising
The more options there are, the more choices there are to make. Because Tulane provides many educational options, we make sure advisors are available to new students from their first days on campus.
A special Advising Center provides a support network of faculty advisors, and in addition, resident advisors, deans, and professional academic counselors will guide your child through questions of course selection, help them decide on a major, and help keep them on track to meet their degree and graduation goals. Our Career Center provides a number of valuable services to ensure that every Tulane graduate has a bright future.
Orientation
Freshman orientation is where the Tulane experience really begins. As students meet other freshmen and learn about the university, they begin to realize just how exciting their time here is likely to be. Orientation staff–students who themselves have been through the orientation process–answer questions about campus life and New Orleans with direct, first-hand information. Special events, such as a riverboat cruise on the Mississippi, help introduce students to some of the unique aspects of the area as they get to know each other and the possibilities ahead.
