Public Health

The School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine’s (SPHTM) four-year undergraduate program of study will provide you with a strong base in the liberal arts and sciences as well as a solid foundation in the public health sciences. Public health is unique in that it encourages engagement with the world in both a scientific and humanistic way; students conduct research on the realities of environmental hazards, the challenges of social choice, and action toward the solution of health problems of individuals and populations.

A Tulane BSPH will be a first step in securing the tools and skill sets you will need to create and disseminate public health knowledge and to apply that knowledge on local and international levels. Students also have the option to pursue a combined Master’s Degree in Public Health (BSPH/MPH).
