Emergency Preparedness
On August 29, 2005 Tulane University experienced the worst natural disaster in the history of our nation. The emergency plan we had refined and practiced many times over was subjected to the ultimate test. The plan and those executing it performed spectacularly. Every student was evacuated safely, and campus was secured.
We have reviewed those lessons and made adjustments to our hurricane plan. These modifications will ensure that we are fully prepared should another emergency threaten us.
