Audubon Park and Magazine Street
Back to Tulane Admission Next StopWithin walking distance of campus, you’ll find two of New Orleans’ most popular attractions: Audubon Park and Magazine Street.
If you walk through the academic quad and across St. Charles Avenue, you’ll find yourself in the beautiful Audubon Park. With New Orleans' year-round mild weather, Audubon Park is the perfect recreation area, boasting open fields, an 18-hole golf course and a two-mile track for running and biking. Designed by the same firm that planned Central Park in New York City, the park is a popular area for students to both exercise and relax.
On the other side of the park is the beginning of Magazine Street, a four-mile eating and shopping paradise. This popular entertainment district has enough restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and coffee shops to keep students busy for four years, and it is also a favorite spot to watch certain Mardi Gras Parades as well as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
