Hi! My name is Lauren Zabell, and I am from Long Island, New York. Currently, I am majoring in Marketing and minoring in Management. During my fall semester, I decided to stay home and attend classes at a local university. While taking classes, I was also able to save money by working at a restaurant and tutoring high-school students in my community.
When I arrived at Tulane, I was nervous about meeting others because I was one of the few that had chosen not to study abroad. However, with various events hosted by the Lavin-Bernick Center, such as movie and DIY nights, I immediately found my group of friends. At Tulane, I am involved in the Women in Business club, Rags to Resources club, and the Food Recovery Network.
Coming to Tulane as a Spring Scholar is definitely a unique experience, but I would not have had it any other way. Staying home the first semester allowed me to work on personal growth and gave me time to prepare myself for the classes' rigor. The Spring Scholars Program is something I am incredibly proud to be part of, and I hope to encourage others to join in. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out!
