Hi! My name is Nick Carroll and I transferred to Tulane as a sophomore in the fall of 2019. I am majoring in Economics with a minor in Spanish. I’m from the Boston area and attended a Roman Catholic college in Pennsylvania for my freshman year. At first, I thought that I had chosen the right college. However, as the Fall progressed, I began to feel that something was missing from my college experience. The social scene was insular and people kept to themselves in a way that I was not expecting. This is not the kind of environment that really inspired me.
As I thought about transferring, and began to visit different colleges, I had a vision of what I wanted: a vibrant campus, in a more urban environment, with a welcoming and friendly community. I found all this the moment I stepped on campus at Tulane. The city of New Orleans has a charm and energy that you can feel. My experience at Tulane has been nothing short of awesome. In a short period of time, I’ve met a great group of people who I know will be lifelong friends. I’ve joined the rugby team which has introduced me to even more people with similar interests. Whether it be through student clubs, community service, or exploring New Orleans, there is always something for everyone to do and be involved in at Tulane.
Transferring to Tulane has been the best decision of my life, and it has taught me not to settle when things don’t feel right. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
