I was first inspired to make New Orleans my home during a service trip to the Gulf Coast in spring 2006. The pride, resiliency, and spirit of Louisianians struck me, and I was immediately taken by the beauty of the city of New Orleans. As soon as I set foot on Tulane’s campus the following fall as a prospective student, I knew exactly where I wanted to go to school. I attended Tulane from 2008 to 2012, majoring in Political Science, serving as an editor for the Tulane Journal of International Affairs, and leading the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club. Upon graduating, I spent four years as an educator in New Orleans public schools, first as a City Year Corps Member and then as a special education and social studies teacher. Having returned to Tulane, I am proud to have the opportunity to give back to my alma mater, to help cultivate future Tulanians, and to continue to serve the New Orleans community.
