I grew up in Houston, Texas, and coming to Tulane spiced up my life (literally, thanks to Tony Chachere’s) in ways I had never imagined. Attending the opening of Yulman Stadium, trying my first seafood ever at Crawfest, cradling a baby alligator at Reily Rocks, and enjoying annual homecoming carnivals to rival all others, are just a few of my favorite Tulane memories. With every new experience, I began to step out of my comfort zone and love Tulane more. I graduated in 2015 after studying Communication and minoring in Psychology. Soon after, I moved to Austin to pursue my M.Ed in Counselor Education at UT, which I completed in May 2017.
As a Tulane student, I worked as a manager at Reily Recreation Center on-campus, was in the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority, was involved in acting clubs and productions on and off-campus, including some of the movies that are filmed at/near Tulane. Tulane’s network and brand recognition was also paramount in helping me attain internships at the local WVUE news station and as an NBC/Universal Campus Marketing rep. Some of my current favorite NOLA-area activities include: perusing the local artwork in historic Jackson Square, tubing on the Bogue Chitto river, and searching for the best queso and dessert in the city.
I remember how stressful applying to college can be—please contact me if you have any questions about Tulane, the admission process, New Orleans, or anything else!
