On my first day of work there was a major thunderstorm in the morning, and as someone coming from California, I had no idea what to expect. In just a couple of hours the weather was beautiful and you could not even tell that we just had a major storm. Also the trees on campus are gorgeous after a rainstorm.
When I first moved here I noticed that everywhere I went people wanted to say hello or have a conversation with me. I felt welcomed from the moment my plane landed and my Uber driver gave me 20+ different restaurants and coffee shops to try. People in NOLA also have so much pride about this city, and now that I live here I completely understand why.
