SACAC Conference Counselor Tours

We invite you to visit Tulane University before or after the SACAC conference in New Orleans! Counselor visits are available on Saturday, April 14, Sunday, April 15, and Tuesday, April 17. Our historic campus is located on St. Charles Avenue across from Audubon Park, a short 4-mile trip from downtown and the Marriott Hotel at 555 Canal Street.

To maximize your time, we have partnered with neighboring Loyola University to offer back-to-back visits on Sunday, April 15 and Tuesday, April 17.

Saturday, April 14

We welcome you to New Orleans with the Tulane SACAC French Quarter Social, a fun, casual event with Tulane Admission at the Bourbon Cowboy (241 Bourbon Street), a few blocks from the Marriott on Canal Street. Stop by anytime between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to get local tips for your visit and to catch up with colleagues.

Continue the fun by joining us for a Tulane Jazz Happy Hour and campus tour! A complimentary Tulane shuttle will pick you up at the Marriott Hotel at 3:30pm. You’ll enjoy a campus tour led by a student ambassador and a happy hour with Admission Directors and staff at the historic Tulane President’s House on St. Charles Avenue. The shuttle will depart Tulane at 7:00 p.m. to return downtown in time for any dinner reservations you would like to arrange in the evening. Please register for the French Quarter Social and/or Saturday Happy Hour and Tour.

And for those who are ready to sweat before these events, join Director of Admission Jeff Schiffman for a complimentary spin class near Tulane’s campus! Class is at 10:45 AM at Romney Studios. Transportation is not provided, but a rockin’ good time is promised. Email Jeff directly to sign up.

Sunday, April 15

The Sunday visit allows you to visit Tulane University and/or Loyola University by touring one or both schools. Your visit(s) will include an information session with admission staff and a walking tour of campus led by a student ambassador. Round-trip transportation will be provided from the Marriott Hotel down St. Charles Avenue four miles to our historic, Uptown campuses. Tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on both campuses. Buses will depart at 8:30 a.m. from the Marriott on Canal Street and will return downtown at 11:30 for the start of the conference. Tulane will provide a hot breakfast and jazz music. Please register for the Sunday Jazz Breakfast/Brunch.

Tuesday, April 17

The Tuesday visit allows you to visit Tulane University and/or Loyola University by touring one or both schools. Your visit(s) will include an information session with Admission staff and a walking tour of campus led by a student ambassador. Transportation is not provided. We recommend riding the green St. Charles streetcar line ($1.25 each way, exact change; 45-minute trip with frequent stops) or taking an Uber/Lyft or a taxi (15-minute trip). Please use 6823 St. Charles Avenue as the address for Tulane University and 6363 St. Charles Avenue for Loyola University. Light refreshments will be provided. Please review tour times and register for a Tuesday Tour.
