Hello! My name is Melody and I am from Central California. I am a Political Science and International Relations major with a minor in International Development. I transferred to Tulane University in the fall of 2016 and I am so glad I did! I previously attended a university in London my freshman year and I had wonderful adventures as I developed into a more independent adult. However, the university did not challenge me enough, so I sought after a university back in the states. In all honesty, I did not know much about Tulane when I applied. However, out of all the universities I applied to, Tulane University was the only university to treat me like a real prospective student. I had trouble with transferring credits or finding merit scholarships at the other universities I applied to. I am so thankful I stumbled upon Tulane and started this new adventure! Currently I am doing federal work study in the Shuttles & Transportation Office for Tulane, where I am involved in helping students learn more about the resources available to them, such as Tapride! I am also looking forward to becoming more acquainted with the Newcomb College Institute on campus which offers many opportunities and grants for women and minority students on campus. Overall, I would say my favorite thing about Tulane is that it is situated right in New Orleans, providing additional opportunities on and off campus to learn and immerse oneself in the vibrant and diverse life down here!
