Asian Studies (Chinese or Japanese Track)

The Asian Studies Program is an interdisciplinary major that offers a China track or Japan track within the major and language minors in Japanese and Chinese. Affiliated faculty work in various departments such as Anthropology, Philosophy, History, Economics, Sociology, Public Health, and various Asian-language departments. In recognition of the critical importance of Asia in the 21st Century and its impact on our daily life, the program encourages students to pursue courses in Anthropology, Art and Art History, Economics, History, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology that have a significant amount course material pertaining to Asian-related topics.
