Hi, I’m Jackson. Once I committed to being a Spring Scholar, I knew I wanted to use those few months well. The first thing I did once I graduated from my high school in Medford, New Jersey was enroll in two summer courses at the local community college. While going to school in the summer, I got a job as a pool service technician. I worked anywhere from 40 to 65 hours a week starting in July to when we had closed all of the pools in early October.
Once my summer classes ended and I had a bit more time on my hands, I did something I have always wanted to do. After a weekend spent at a rider safety training course, I had my motorcycle license. I'm also lucky enough to have a mom with a bike for me to ride. I also decided to travel. I had time to visit Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Virginia, California, Arizona, and to top it all off, Punta Cana.
Now that I am here at Tulane, I am a Spring Scholars Ambassador, I am involved with the ROTC program, and I am also a proud member of the ultimate frisbee team.
