My “Only at Tulane” Moment:
I think something that blows my mind is that I was never supposed to meet any of the wonderful and smart people I've met here. On average, Tulane students are over 900 miles away from home, so we all took something of a leap of faith by choosing Tulane. There have been many moments where I’ve been with my friends and I just take a second to appreciate the fact that we all chose to do something different and come to Tulane and we got to share New Orleans together!
My “Only in New Orleans” Moment:
One day in college my friend Sam from high school visited me at Tulane for the first time. I took him all over the city and we ate so much over a 48-hour period. Po-boys from Parkway, cheese fries from F&M’s, ice cream from Creole Creamery… you name it! The visit ended with us eating raw oysters at Felix’s and then beignets from Café du Monde while watching a street performance outside Jackson Square. It was one of those moments that made me feel so lucky to live here!
My Best College Search Process Tip:
Be yourself! Whether it is your activities or essays, you need to be authentic. Don't pretend to be someone you're not just to "look good for college." Listen to your instincts when you visit campuses. You'll be able to tell which schools feel like home!
