I am Alexie Smith, and I am originally from Renton, Washington. I spent my fall working three jobs while living at home and I am more than happy to talk about my experience. Starting university one semester later really gave me the opportunity to decompress after high school and come into college with replenished energy and new motivation. Since I graduated from high school a year early, I didn’t feel like I was rushing to catch up with fall-starting students. I believe so many students would benefit from the Spring Scholars program, whether to study abroad or work at home, so that you can come to Tulane refreshed and ready to learn.
