Tulane allows students from other colleges and universities to take summer classes through our undergraduate college, Newcomb-Tulane College (NTC). Online and in-person summer courses are held during three sessions to offer maximum flexibility to meet your needs. The 2025 Summer Sessions will be updated when available.
Requirements for Visiting Students:
- Students must have earned a high school diploma, or the equivalent, by the beginning of the summer session.
- Students are expected to have completed stated course prerequisites by the start of the session. This is not applicable to every course. Please read the course descriptions carefully to find out if there are required prerequisites.
- Students need to be in good academic standing at their home institution.
Enrollment is for summer only.
Courses
Summer 2025 will have courses both online and in-person featuring interactive, engaging remote and in-person learning experiences. We will be publishing our Summer 2025 courses soon so be sure to visit our site and keep checking the Schedule of Classes for the most up-to-date information and to register for summer classes.
In the meantime, if there are classes you would like to be offered in NTC Summer School, let us know by emailing summerschool@tulane.edu.
NTC Summer School will update the Schedule of Classes as needed throughout the registration period. In the event a course does not have sufficient registrations, NTC Summer School may need to cancel or modify the course.
Visiting students should also consider these additional opportunities:
- Maymester Intensive Courses: These courses meet for five hours daily over the course of two weeks.
- School of Professional Advancement (SOPA)" Visiting students are also welcome to register for classes during the fall, spring, and summer sessions through SOPA. The School of Professional Advancement offers online options and six or twelve week options.
- Minors, Institutes, and Special Programs: Students can also use the summer to earn a minor or teaching qualifications. Tulane offers a wide range of minors and encourages cross-disciplinary studies throughout Newcomb-Tulane College and its five schools.
