What better way to close out the conference than celebrating in the spirit of New Orleans best known cultural festival—Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras World is where all the work behind the magic of Mardi Gras takes place. You'll get an insiders look at how the floats used in Mardi Gras are imagined, designed, and fabricated. After exploring how Mardi Gras is created, the party will kickoff in the ballroom with live music from acclaimed trumpeter and bandleader, Shamarr Allen. If you've never been to Mardi Gras, this is your chance to catch some beads, join in the revelry that emanates throughout the city during the holiday, and experience what is known as the “Greatest Free Show on Earth." And of course, New Orleans inspired refreshments and libations will be available for all throughout the event.

After a week of exploring all that New Orleans has to offer, this will be a unique service opportunity that will allow participants to give back to the community. As a group, we will volunteer at ArcGNO, a New Orleans based non-profit organization which supports children and adults with developmental disabilities. This organization receives donations of recycled Mardi Gras beads and is always in need of volunteers to sort and package them. We will assist them as a festive end to our time in New Orleans.
