Through our extensive merit-based and need-based scholarship programs, we work to make Tulane as affordable as possible for each admitted student.
Below is our estimated 2026-2027 cost of attendance for first-year undergraduate students living on campus and enrolled full-time in our undergraduate college, called Newcomb-Tulane College.
Tuition & Fees
$75,136
Housing on Campus
$11,638 (based on 2 students per bedroom in a communal-style residence hall)
Meals on Campus
$8,780 (based on minimally required meal plan)
Books & Supplies
$700 (a bundle of textbooks, e-books, and other resources required by faculty of your course schedule)
Miscellaneous
While the charges above represent the primary billable charges one can expect from Tulane (without financial aid), there are additional expenses students and families should forecast. These include: a one-time orientation fee ($300 for first-year students); health insurance if not covered by parents; laundry; a one-time technology fee for students in our School of Architecture & Built Environment; and laboratory fees for certain courses.
Transportation
Students should also forecast transportation expenses getting to and from Tulane's campus. This will be variable depending on one's distance from campus.
TOTAL
$96,254+
It is important to note that the total cost of attendance at Tulane will vary depending on your enrollment status (full-time or part-time), class standing (first-year or transfer) and your residency (on campus, off-campus, or commuting from your family home).
In addition, our costs typically increase 3-5% each year, though our need-based financial aid offerings attempt to meet these annual increases. Grants and scholarships may cover anywhere from $1,000 to your full cost of attendance.
