Favorite NOLA Restaurant:

Pizza Delicious. It’s the best New York style pizza in town and they catered my wedding!

Favorite Spot on Campus:

Newcomb Art Museum. They’ve got a really cool collection, especially work from amazing local artists like Rontherin Ratliff and Carl Joe Williams.

My “Only at Tulane” Moment:

Tulane has really incredible faculty. Tulane Professor and Historical Geographer Richard Campanella’s work has informed the way I work and live in New Orleans for a decade. And Jesmyn Ward teaches here! Thankfully small class sizes make it easy to get to know your professors – take advantage of that.

My “Only in New Orleans” Moment:

There are way too many to choose from: opening for Tank and the Bangas at Tipitinas; finally catching Mr. Okra’s truck to buy produce; walking in the Chewbacchus parade; dancing at Mimi’s or Hi-Ho for DJ Soul Sister’s sets; AND eating my favorite vegetarian sandwich in the world: a french fry po’boy at Parkway. New Orleans is magic.

My Best College Search Process Tip:

Fit is so important. You’re not just picking the college that sounds the most impressive or looks the best on paper: you’re choosing the place, people, location, and resources that are going to help shape you into the person you want to become. Be honest with yourself and go with your gut.
